|
| 1. Come Thou fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise.
2. Teach me some melodious measure,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
O the vast, the boundless treasure,
Of my Lord's unchanging love!
3. Here I raise my Ebenezer,
Hither by Thy help I'm come,
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
4. Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.
5. Not alone hath grace redeemed me, Bought me with Christ's precious blood, Sought me out when I, a stranger, Wandered from the fold of God;
6. But beyond this great salvation God hath shown me wondrous grace-- Called me with a heav'nly calling, Ever to behold his face.
7. O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let that grace, Lord, like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
8. I will tread the way appointed, Rough and thorny though it be; In the steps of thine Anointed; 'Tis my privilege, I see.
9. Prone to wander—Lord, I feel it— Prone to leave the God I love:
Here's my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it from Thy courts above.
10. O that day when freed from sinning, I shall see Thy lovely face; Clothed then in blood washed linen How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace;
11. Come, my Lord, no longer tarry, Take my ransomed soul away; Send thine angels now to carry Me to realms of endless day.

13. Come, thou Fount of ev'ry blessing, Tune my heart to sing thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise,
14. Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wandering from the fold of God; He, to save my soul from danger, Interposed His precious blood.
15. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above; Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it, Mount of God's unchanging love.
16. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to grieve the One I love: Yet Thou, Lord, hast deigned to seal it, With Thy Spirit from above.
17. Rescued thus from sin and danger, Purchased by the Saviour's blood, May I walk on earth a stranger, As a son and heir of God.
